$20/hour

Full-time: 6:00am – 5:00pm with Weekend Rotation

An established catering company in the Sioux Center, IA area is hiring a Sous Chef to join their growing team! As a Sous Chef, you will work with and help lead a team to make the best food they can with authentic recipes. You will supervise kitchen staff, oversee food preparation, and assist with all aspects of the dining services program. If you are enthusiastic about cooking and leadership, then this is the job for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service.
  • Supervise and train staff.
  • Read and understand function sheets for menus and time of functions.
  • Produce and maintain prep sheets and duty rosters.
  • Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production.
  • Open and/or close the kitchen as required by shift.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Culinary Arts Degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of cooking experience required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification, preferred (or willing to obtain after hire).
  • First Aid training preferred.
