Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. This role involves working closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims, follow-up on outstanding balances, and resolution of any billing issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and submit insurance claims using appropriate billing software.
• Review and verify accuracy of billing information, including coding, charges, and patient information.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, working with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve issues.
• Perform accounts receivable management, including posting payments and reconciling accounts.
• Handle patient billing inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and payer requirements.
• Assist in the credentialing process for new providers as needed.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claims, and coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
• Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, etc.).
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) is a plus.
• Experience in specialty billing (e.g., OT, PT, Speech Therapy, Pain and Wound Care) is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable management and financial reporting.
