Groundskeeper – FULL TIME SEASONAL

GROUNDSKEEPER
The Groundskeeper performs landscaping tasks to maintain the facility’s grounds. This position is Full Time Seasonal.
Duties and Responsibilities of Groundskeeper
- Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
- Picks up and removes trash/sticks prior to mowing a designated area.
- Empties trash and recycling containers.
- Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
- Prepares soil, mulches, and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs.
- Plants trees and prunes them when necessary.
- Cuts and removes trees as needed.
- Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
- Performs routine maintenance on power equipment.
- Maintains the lawns at all of our locations: Activity Center, 9 group homes, apartments, warehouse, Rockwell City gardens, and mini golf course.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain flexibility of schedules to provide adequate coverage.
- Assist in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the organization by performing all duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
- Maintain professional competency by participating in continuing education, in-services, and personal growth experiences.
- Protect the privacy of clients and staff by maintaining confidentiality of records and personal information and follow all policies and procedures under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Qualifications of Groundskeeper
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to operate various types of power equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Previous experience preferred.
- On-the-job training offered.

- Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks.
- Clear tuberculosis screening.
- Ability to pass and maintain required training such as CPR/First Aid, Dependent Adult/Child Abuse, and Behavior Management Program, or other training as assigned per specific job duties.

Regularly required to operate vehicles and equipment. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level is usually mild to moderate, but can be loud when operating certain equipment.

Salary: $15 – $16 Per Hour
