Position Summary: The Finance Clerk, under the direction of the C.F.O., is responsible for performing all operational Revenue and Audit functions in the proper accounting and reporting of all casino generated revenue, including CLII Gaming Machines, food and beverage, gift shops, event center, vending machines, hotel, and any other areas. This position will ensure the proper accounting of revenue through general ledger reconciliation, including preparing journal entries and ensuring the accuracy of all data. To produce management reports on gaming, sales, and use tax returns, and all other requested or required statistical reporting. This position will perform all responsibilities in compliance with the National Indian Gaming Commission, and various state and federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensures proper accounting and reporting of all casino generated revenue, including CLII Gaming Devices, food and beverage, gift shops, event center, vending machines, hotel, and any other areas.
- Reviews and Revises all data prior to entry into the Vault Log.
- Reviews and approves account reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts. Produces management reports on gaming, sales, and use tax returns, and all other requested or required statistical reporting. Prepares and reviews all tax reports and returns. Keeps supervisor informed.
- Manages incumbents in signing or obtaining proper authorization signatures for all transactions.
- Encourages staff to consistently demonstrate a general awareness of revenue and audit operations at all times. Keeps supervisor informed of any concerns. Addresses Minor Employee Concerns (Finance Related) and resolves problems. Team members in the Finance Department need to work harmoniously together to keep operations running smoothly
Flexible workweek with possible additional hours required.
- Cross Trained to provide back up support to the Payroll, Audit departments, and Cage
Departments.
- Responsible for protecting casino assets
- Will maintain confidentiality policies as it relates to business operations, valued guests, and employees
- Will adhere to all SSN Ohiya Casino & Resort Minimum Internal Control Standards. Responsible for other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Grad/or Equivalent with Higher Education with a Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting Field.
- Minimum of Two Years’ Experience in Related Casino Employment.
- General knowledge of gaming, including Bingo and CL Il Gaming Devices are a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office, notably in Microsoft Excel. C.M.S./Table Trac and Quick
Books experience is a plus
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Must be able to pass a drug screening and adhere to the tribe’s drug/alcohol free workplace policy.
- Have understanding of Santee Dakota historical/ contemporary history/ culture that relates to Ohiya Casino and Resort mission, purpose and employment.
- Maintain a strict confidentiality on Casino business/guest.
- In the event the casino falls short of staff, you are required to a mandatory 6-day work week.
- Read and Comprehend Departments S.O.P., Employee Handbook, and Policy Manual Work assigned schedules that will include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to standing/walking the entire shift.
- Must have good interpersonal relation skills
- Take and pass a medical physical
- Arriving on time for all scheduled shifts
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during alt interactions. Must obtain and maintain Santee Sioux Nation Gaming License.
