Responsible to:  Business Office Manager

 Job Summary:  This position is responsible for the accurate and timely accounting for all payment transactions of the organization.

 Qualifications:  Previous experience in bookkeeping is required.  Previous health care business office experience is preferred.    

Typical Physical Demands: 

  1. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Requires sitting for long periods of time.
  2. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  Requires the ability to speak, hear and see. Requires working under crowded conditions.
  1. Employee must successfully pass the Cherokee Regional Medical Center’s health assessment.


  1. Sort and distribute mail at the hospital.
  2. Process all payments received for Cherokee Regional Medical Center/Cherokee Medical Clinics including cash, paper checks, electronic payments, credit card payments
  3. Complete deposit/posting worksheets accurately
  4. Complete the daily deposit by 2:30 p.m.
  5. Assist with answering phones and assisting patients when making payments by phone or in person.
  6. Assist with Patient Registration duties as needed.
  7. Assist with other duties as assigned by manager.
